After a brutal start to the series, the Carnation TT finished up on a typical rainy day. We were at least treated to relatively warm temps, but the roads remained a little slick. Thanks to everyone who raced this abbreviated series and congrats go out to Chandler Leach (Audi) and Trish Bailey (Keller Rohrback) for their overall victories!
Last month I went to Serotta's factory in Saratoga Springs, NY to attend a week of advanced fitting classes by the Serotta International Cycling Institute (SICI). It was a great week of education, meeting some of the industries top bike fitters and researchers and other fellow shop owners. It was also a great bling-fest with some unbelievably beautiful hand built bikes on display and in production.
The Carnation Time Trial Series is returning for it's fourth year after taking the 2010 season off. Also for 2011, FootWorks Cycles is once again partnering with FareStart / Cobalt Mortgage (formerly IJM.org) to bring you the 2011 season kick off race - Frostbite Time Trial. Tentative date is February 26th. Bring your booties and snowplow. I dont think we are going to luck out like we did last year.

FootWorks Cycles is proud to be an exclusive dealer for Catlike Helmets. These helmets have been well known in Europe for years and are now available in the USA. The Whisper Plus weighs in at an amazingly little 240 grams, is extremely comfortable, and like it's name suggests it is really quieter than most other helmets.
Catlike was founded in Spain over 12 years ago and has been worn in the European Grand Tours by Euskatel Euskadi and the Cervelo Test Team.

Serotta bicycles approached Neal Goldberg to sell their bikes. Why? Because FIT MATTERS. They seek out the best bike fitters who provide the best customer service to sell their bikes. That's it.
Cyclists have relied on Neal at FootWorks Cycles to properly fit their bikes, and create new bike designs for years. Now, cyclists will be able to purchase a new Serotta bike directly from FootWorks Cycles.

2010 has been a great year for Linsey as she has podiumed at all of her her big races this year. Starting in third, then second, and now she's got her first! At Ironman CdA, Linsey set a new course record with a blistering time of 9:17:54. After a great swim and bike, she took control on the run and never looked back.
Linsey came to to FootWorks last year before Kona to be dialed in on her bike. She proves that the right fit will maximize your comfort, power and overall performance. Here's to Kona 2010!

Cyclesoles, custom cycling specific insoles, are now available at FootWorks Cycles. Cyclesoles offer an excellent custom option for your footbed with out the need for a custom "orthotic."
Cyclesoles are molded for your foot while you are on your bike, maximizing it's effectiveness for the cycling shoe. Power transfer, pressure relief, and comfort are all maximized.
Cyclesoles are made in house by physical therapist and foot specialist Neal Goldberg who will make sure that your biomechanics, alignment, and needs are all accounted for. Typically Cyclesoles are made within 24 hours of your visit, if not while you wait.

Linsey Corbin had an amazing race at the 2009 Ironman Arizona. She was second only to Sam McGlone, and she had a whopping bike PR split of 5:05:07. That includes a pesky 4 minute penalty too! Linsey came to FootWorks to get her bike re-fit following her Kona experience in October. Things obviously came together for her.
Congrats Linsey, here's to Kona 2010!

2009's Ironman Canada proved to be a tough race for me. Temps were in the 90's, but I think the real problem was the intense smoke from nearby forest fires. The mountains that line the entire race course were nearly obscured from view at times. I wound up finishing an hour behind my planned time, and I ended up in the medical tent getting a couple bags of fluid dripped into me.
Congrats to all my friends and clients who also raced! It was great seeing you all out there.
So, I am now really glad to be back in the office. If you call or email I will be able to respond quickly.
